Hey Everyone!
I wanted to give everyone a sneak peek inside the Sandals Royal Caribbean’s Over the Water Bungalows. I was fortunate enough to view them in December. They were officially open for bookings beginning December 1, 2016, so they are VERY new. So whether you are here because you want stay at one of these bungalows, or here just out of curiosity, check it out.
Here is a breakdown of what you can expect staying at one of these over the water bungalows.
Kitchen
One of the first things you will see when you walk into the bungalow is a well equipped kitchenette with a sink, nice counter tops, plenty of cupboard space and a Keurig machine for some coffee making. Keep in mind, unlike resorts in Bora Bora or the Maldives, Sandals Royal Caribbean is an all inclusive resort so there’s nothing you actually need to cook which is why no stove is needed. Guests have access to the 8 onsite restaurants here:
- Royal Thai – Thai restaurant found on the private offshore island. Open for dinner (reservations are required)
- The Regency Suite and Deck – International cuisine is served buffet-style for breakfast and lunch. Dinners are served a la carte
- Bamboo Shack – Jamaican buffet with island jerk specialties, plus a salad bar
- Bella Napoli Pizzeria – open for lunch
- Eleanor’s – Pan-Caribbean specialties are served a la carte. Open for dinner
- The Cricketer’s Pub – Casual british pub serving authentic cuisine like fish and chips
- The Mariner Seaside Grill – fresh seafood, plus Jamaican specialties. Open for lunch and late night snacks
- Le Jardinier – Gourmet French cuisine served on an outdoor terrace. Open for breakfast and dinner (reservations are required)
- Tea Room – continental breakfast and afternoon are served daily
In addition to the 8 onsite restaurants available, you also have access to 12 onsite restaurants between Sandals Montego Bay and Sandals Inn. Let’s just say… you won’t go hungry here!
Bedroom
Immediately after leaving the kitchenette area, you enter the bedroom. Where the magic happens! According to Sandals, the inspiration behind the bungalow design is the Feng Shui elements: Wood, Water, Fire, Earth and Metal, which is illustrated all throughout the bungalow.
The bed looked SO comfy. Noticed I said “looked.” While I was fortunate enough to take a peek inside, they were getting the room ready for actual paying guests who will be staying here for the night so I couldn’t really touch anything; however, I have stayed at 3 Sandals properties myself so I can attest to the comfy high-thread-count-like-sleeping-on-a-cloud beds.
This picture will never do this justice, but there is a glass bottom where you can see fish swimming beneath you. If you like watching TV from your peripheral vision, there’s a big screen TV there. Though, with views from this room, watching the TV seems like such a waste! That’s why you’ll notice the chairs are facing the deck.
Beyond the incredible views, you will notice the fabulous Butler in the back there. When staying at Sandals Royal Caribbean’s Over the Water Bungalows, you will have 24/7 butler service. The butlers are all trained in accordance to the exacting service standards of the Guild of Professional Butlers. Furthermore, you’ll also have access to personalized in-room dining to private yoga classes and direct resort access via a “Royal Duffy” luxury boat. Addition pluses include: personal airport greeting with expedited immigration; private luxury resort transfers; House of Marley sound system; welcome gift, including a branded beach tote and towel set and more.
Bathroom
The bathroom had all of the amenities you would expect it to have and more. Two sinks, with extra towels below and a vanity mirror. The bathroom is very spacious. Plenty of room for two! Enjoy Molten Brown bathroom amenities.
Outside deck
Enjoy this private, outdoor deck. Take a shower, dip in the pool, or lounge around on the chairs and benches. Why not go for a dip in the water? Enjoy your little piece of paradise. Enjoy a little snack break on this swing. Just want to relax hammock style? They got you covered there, too!
Obviously, this place is what dreams are made of. It’s complete tropical paradise and perfect for couples seeking the ultimate relaxing and romantic getaway. They say the best things in life are free, but this little piece of paradise comes with a price tag. The price to stay here starts at $1,435 per person/night.
