After going through the lengthy process of Choosing a Las Vegas Hotel, I decided to book Bally’s Las Vegas! I’m very glad I did. Here’s my review.
Accommodations
After hopping in my shuttle from the LAS McCarran Airport, I made it to my “home” for the next 5 nights: Bally’s Las Vegas Hotel and Casino. For those who don’t know, Bally’s is a part of the Caesars Entertainment group of hotels in Las Vegas. The very first thing I noticed was the smell of cigarette smoke that hit me like a ton of bricks. That smell unfortunately is very common with casinos there as guests are legally allowed to smoke there. The only places that are off limits for smokers are the non-smoking rooms so be sure to book the proper accommodations accordingly. Or better yet… hire your travel agent to set it up for you!
Room Category
Check in was a breeze with the front desk team. There is a $50 per room per night incidental hold on your card charged immediately at check in. Then there is a mandatory resort fee of $39.48 per room per night paid at check out for use of Wi-Fi and pool amenities. I stayed in a Jubilee King Strip View Non Smoking Room and it was absolutely perfect. The rooms were recently renovated in the Jubilee Tower so they were like new. The bed was HUGE and comfy. My boyfriend and I had a great view of the strip – facing the Eiffel Tower and Bellagio fountains. One of my friends had a strip view facing the LINQ High roller but I was less impressed with those views.
The TV wasn’t used too much since I brought my laptop and we watched Netflix on that but it’s still nice to have for some downtime when you need a break from the strip. And trust me… you will WANT a break from the strip. It is exhausting, tiring, a feast for all senses. The room was a nice haven away from the madness. There’s a coffee maker and ice bucket. If you are facing the dresser, to the left there is a mini fridge that came in handy. We walked to the nearest CVS (past Planet Hollywood) and grabbed a bunch of water bottles to leave in the room.
Dining
Just like with most hotels on the strip, there are quite a few options allowing you the opportunity to never have to leave the hotel. Or better yet… never have to leave the casino!
The restaurants at Bally’s are as follows:
- Sidewalk Cafe – 24 hour American food
- Sbarros – Italian and Pizza
- Java Coast – Custom coffee house
- Buca Cafe Italiano – Classic Italian fare and different buffets all day
- Tequila Taqueria – Fresh Mexican dishes and beverages
- BLT Steak – American steakhouse
- Sterling Brunch served every Sunday here
- SEA – The Thai Experience – Asian fusion
- Terrace Cafe – Poolside restaurant serving American food
- Nosh Nosh – light fare
Room service is also available 24 hours a day. The two onsite restaurants my group was able to try was Tequila Taqueria for lunch and the Buca Cafe Italiano one morning for their breakfast buffet.
Tequila Taqueria is a great lunch spot. Here is their menu. My group started off with the chips trio that came with guacamole, salsa, and queso dip. Very large portions here! The group also ordered various lunch entrees like fish tacos, quesadillas, and enchiladas. We also had to try the margaritas of course!
Breakfast
The breakfast buffet at Buca Cafe Italiano was also delicious. They offered biscuits with sausage gravy, country fried steak, eggs, bacon, french toast, assortment of cereal, Danish/baked goods, coffee, and more. Was very filling and we loaded up before our pool party! Since we knew that was going to last from 11AM – 4PM with no meals in between.
It’s definitely convenient to have your choice of restaurants at your hotel for those lazy days of not wanting to walk too far. Bally’s Las Vegas definitely delivers.
In addition to the restaurants, there are also 4 onsite bars to quench your thirst:
- Celebrity Theater Bar
- Indigo Room Lounge – an elegant setting featuring live piano and premium cocktails and liquors
- Sully’s Casino Bar – open air feel and comfortable seating
- Evening call – frozen daiquiri bar
Entertainment
Even outside of the hotel, there are all these little restaurants lined up like Wahlburgers, a casual burger joint that is owned by the famous Wahlburg brothers. You can sit outside and listen to live musicians play. It’s a nice and relaxing thing to do on the strip. It was pretty family friendly as well.
Bally’s Las Vegas is home to Jubilee Show – a spectacular stage production that has entertained for over 30 years. Dancers, costumes, music and a big finish! This show has been a staple of the Las Vegas Strip since it first opened at Bally’s in 1981.
Casino Gaming – 67,000 sq. ft. casino with 1500 slot machines and 100 table games, stadium style race and sports book with 12 large monitors and 210 individual television monitors. If you’re cheap like me, just try your luck at the penny slots!
Wellness
There is also an Olympic-size heated pool at Bally’s Las Vegas. Towel service chairs and lounges provided. Remember that mandatory resort fee we discussed earlier… that’s what you’re paying for. Poolside bar provides optional food & drink service. Cabana rentals available for $50 weekdays, $75 weekends. Pool is seasonal. When Bally’s pool is not available guests may use the facilities at next door Paris.
There is a hot tub and sauna in health club. The health club is essentially a fitness center offering a complete fitness facility with free weights, cardiovascular and strength equipment. Daily access of $20 includes use of spa facilities. There are 8 lighted tennis courts, and professional instruction available. Bally’s Avenue Shoppes is located within the complex of Bally’s Las Vegas, and is a collection of more than 20 shops offering gifts, clothing, boutiques and fine jewelry.
It’s never a dull moment in or near the Bally’s property. Check out my 5 Nights in Vegas blog post. Overall, this was a great property that offered a lot. If I make it back to Sin City I will likely book Bally’s again!
