Heading to Paris soon? Looking for a professional photographer to capture your memories? You’ve come to the right place! As a travel agent, I’ve received an increasing amount of inquiries for professional photographers. More and more of my clients are looking to capture their memories. In the form of professional photography. Whether you are looking for couples photos, family photos, or solo, I highly recommend it. Many clients look to me for advice on choosing the right photographer. Sometimes, I’ll recommend AirBNB experiences. Other times, I’ll find credible photographers on social media based on relevant hashtags. Viator also has sever photographer tour options. Some larger resorts, like Sandals Resorts, has their own onsite professional photographers. You can read my full review of Sandals Photo Center here.
But when you’re heading to Paris, these are the photographers I recommend: The Parisian Photographers. Specifically, my fiancé and I worked with Marcus Heim. He was so great to work with! I’ll go through the process so you can get an idea what it’s like.
Getting In Touch / Choosing Your Destination
So step 1 of course is getting in touch with the team. They will decide who is available for your dates. I recommend reaching out months in advance. Spaces fill up quickly! They have a helpful link on their site where you can determine the best location for you:
- Trocadero – Eiffel Tower
- Bir Hakeim Bridge
- Alexandre III Bridge
- Le Louvre & Tuileries Garden
- Palais Royale
- Notre Dame area
- Luxembourg Gardens
- Montmartre
Or, if you had another spot in mind, you could customize it. We chose the Trocadero Steps location. That seemed to be the most iconic location in my mind. A great view of the Eiffel Tower.
Depositing
After you’ve decided on the set day and time, and your location, it’s time to deposit. You can pay via Paypal. The rate we paid was 190 Euros for 1 hour/ 1 location. Wish we had more funds to splurge on another location! Cannot rave about The Parisian Photographers enough. We deposited 90 Euros via Paypal to lock in our appointment.
After you’ve deposited, that’s when you can reach out to your photographer and discuss the nature of the shoot. Is this for an engagement session specifically? I know I really needed some new headshots for LinkedIn and wanted a few engagement photos while we here. Because, why not? Marcus was great in communication. He gave us a map and labeled the exact area in which to meet him. We added each other on WhatsApp and kept in touch until the day of. Then on the day of, it was super easy to find him. He sent a photo of himself so we’d know what he was wearing that day. Then we got to shooting!
Photoshoot
We met at the museum right next to the Trocadero Steps. Although it was slightly raining that day, we didn’t let it stop us. Just meant we got to work with an umbrella as a “prop.” ☂️
Umbrella…. ella… ella…
We took the majority of the photos on the Trocadero Steps as requested, and then walked by the carousel for a few last snaps. We paid him the remaining 100 Euros we owed him in cash and were on our way to tour more of the city! (Not in these outfits!)
Photo Deliveries
Marcus had our photos back to us within 1 week – very quick turnaround time! He even gave us a few sneak peeks later that evening. Overall, we were very happy with the outcome and would highly recommend Marcus Heim with The Parisian Photographers. Also, here is the link to my full 10-Day Christmas Markets Trip.
